In the face of the tumultuous and unpredictable year of 2020, where social distancing and shielding became the norm, the Women of Heart Awards (WOHA) emerged as a beacon of hope and compassion. Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, WOHA adapted and thrived as an online celebration, recognising fifteen exceptional “womentarians” from around the world during the lockdown. This innovative spirit set the stage for a future in-person ceremony that would gather these compassionate women together in celebration.
As the world grappled with the pandemic and its aftermath in 2021, the list of honourees for the Women of Heart Awards grew exponentially. From an initial group of fifteen, the number of recipients expanded to fifty, seventy-five, and eighty-eight remarkable women. These honourees are the heart particles of our Women of Hearts for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, who have demonstrated unwavering dedication and compassion in their humanitarian efforts.
“My one wish is for everyone to be happy and to live in a world where peacefulness and the energy of cosmic love can be radiated and felt through every human existence and experience,” says Dr Desziree Richardson, the visionary behind WOHA. Her journey, rooted in a deep love for helping others, has been marked by volunteer work with some of the UK’s foremost charitable organisations. These experiences fuelled her passion for social entrepreneurship, leading her to found the Women of Heart Foundation.
The Women of Heart Foundation is dedicated to recognising, promoting, inspiring, celebrating, educating, and empowering women and young girls. It aims to support those in need through empowerment, sanitation and hygiene, emotional intelligence, education, and well-being.
Additionally, “Face of WOHA,” an empowered woman brand, product, fashion, and speaking platform, connects and unites diverse women, leaders, and entrepreneurs through the power of public speaking, allowing them to share their voices and messages with the world.
“Let us continue to speak, feel, and spread love through our thoughts and actions.“ Put love in all you do; when love wins, the world wins.” quoted by Desziree Richardson
She further emphasises the Women of Heart Foundation (WOHF) and these ceremonies’ message: to create a world where love, kindness, and compassion are at the forefront of human existence and experience.
As we eagerly anticipate our annual celebration ceremony of WOHA and GOHA, Women of Heart Awards and Gentlemen of Heart Awards, we are filled with gratitude to honour and celebrate the compassionate souls who embody humanity, creativity, humility, generosity, integrity, and intelligence—reminding us that there are great individuals who recognise and appreciate those who bring positive change through their leadership, philanthropy, business acumen, investments, creative pursuits, innovative endeavours, and intellectual contributions every day.
The combined WOHA and GOHA ceremony is a one-night celebration that responds to the increasing number of honourees in 2022, 2023, and 2024 at The Leonardo Royal Hotel, St Paul Godliman Street, London, on November 16th, 2024. This event celebrates women’s and men’s remarkable achievements and promotes positivity, unity, humility, honesty, and integrity.
When we come together, we are an invisible force that can create a brighter, more peaceful world through peace and compassion.
