A childhood friend’s brother, JB, asked Tasher to handle security for an event. It was meant to be a one-time favor, but as the night unfolded, Tasher realized he had a knack for the job. His ability to assess risks, stay alert, and maintain control of the situation sparked an idea.
Encouraged by his then-girlfriend and now-wife, Miesha Abner, he decided to take security seriously. With Miesha’s support, Tasher enrolled at Davis Security Training Center obtained his guard license, and laid the foundation for his own company.
In 2018, OLDPGS was officially launched. It wasn’t long before the company secured its first major contract with Sheldon Matthews, a hospitality manager overseeing multiple bars. This contract provided OLDPGS with its first patrol vehicle, allowing the company to establish its presence in the private security industry.
Then, in 2020, the world changed.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it shut down bars and nightlife, leaving many security firms scrambling to stay afloat. OLDPGS faced an uncertain future.
